WHY DO WE NEED MORE BLACK DOCTORS?

In 2014, about 50,000 people applied for medical school with only 3,990 of them as African Americans. Out of 20,343 new entrants into medical school in 2014, only 1,412 were African American

Less than 4% of the total population of 897,420 doctors in the US are African Americans. The African American community is highly under represented with only ¼ of its entire population as physicians.
