What is a personal board of directors? A personal board of directors guides, questions, and supports you when you’re faced with critical challenges and changes in your career. In other words, it’s your personal posse, tribal elders, confidants, or “go-to” peeps.

Why should I have one? Because your board can… Be a valuable resource outside of your workplace Serve as confidants Help you when you need it most

How to assemble your board Step 1: List names People who know you well e.g., a sibling, friend, partner Advisors in your professional life e.g., accountant, attorney, speech coach People you admire e.g., senior executive, parents, professor
