About the ASA The ASA is the National Governing Body for Swimming and its associated disciplines for England. These include: –Swimming –Diving –Synchronised Swimming –Water Polo –Open Water Swimming

A “Typical” ASA Club Mainly volunteers, although some do have paid Teachers and/or Coaches (full & part-time) Affiliated to their county, region & national ASA Constitution and committee – to run club affairs Various roles within club, which include: –Chairman –Teacher/Coach –Treasurer –Secretary –Officials –Welfare Officer –Volunteer Co-ordinator –Marketing Officer

A “Typical” ASA Club Operate at different levels Financed through membership fees, grants/subsidies Enter competitions at varying levels Recruit members via marketing, word-of-mouth, club/school links, learn to swim programmes
