Yolo Air Pollution Control District Formed in 1970 In 1971, Yolo and Solano Counties formed the Yolo-Solano Air Pollution Control District The Solano portion of the District is the portion of the county within Sacramento Valley Air Basin The 2014/2015 budget was $6.9 million Currently we have 22 full-time employees 14 Member Governing Board District Background

In 2013 five violations of federal standards – One ozone in July and four PM2.5 in December No violations to date in 2014 Despite good air quality in the District currently non-attainment for federal ozone and PM2.5 standards District part of larger Sacramento Regional non- attainment planning areas for ozone and PM2.5 – Ozone: Sacramento, Yolo and portions of Solano, Sutter, El Dorado and Placer – PM2.5: Sacramento and portions of Yolo, Solano and Placer Air Quality in the District

In 2009 Region attained 1-hour (1979) standard Currently designated severe non-attainment for 1997 8-hour standard with attainment date of 2019 – Plan approved in September 2014 Designated severe non-attainment for 2008 8- hour ozone standard with an attainment year of 2027 Plan due by end of July 2016 Ozone Planning Effort

Design value for 2011-2013 was 35.5 mg/m3 (standard is 35 mg/m3) Region believes we are likely to return to attainment in 2012-2014 timeframe – 2011 worse year than 2013 – 2014 has been a good year so far with no exceedances (with the exception of smoke events due to the King fire) Working with EPA Region IX to determine next steps PM2.5 Planning Effort
