V ERBAL -L INGUISTIC They focus on words and symbols to gain understanding. They are word smart.

L OGICAL -M ATHEMATICAL Oriented toward inductive and deductive thinking. They like to work with numbers, abstract problems and using their logic while they learn.

D REAM V ACATION You’re going on a trip…Where do you want to go? How are you going to get there? (means of transportation) What are your expenses? (all) Who is going with you?...will this add to your expenses? How long are you going to be gone? Logical-Mathematical

V ISUAL -S PATIAL This type of learner could be classified as an abstract thinker rather than a concrete thinker. They like to use visual images to gain understanding.

M OLD A S CENE …. Listen closely to the story we read. Then, with your play dough, mold a scene from the book that you were able to connect with. Oh yeah…..HAVE FUN! Visual-Spatial

B ODILY -K INESTHETIC Needs to be involved in physical movement while learning. They learn by doing.

A F INAL N OTE … T HINGS TO R EMEMBER Every person possesses all eight intelligences. Most people can develop each intelligence to an adequate level of competency. Intelligences usually work together in complex ways. There are many ways to be intelligent within each category.
