I CAN find the discount and sale price of an item and find the tax and total price of an item after taxes.
2
First find out what tax rate you will be paying. In each state the sales tax varies. Convert your percentage to a decimal by moving your decimal two spaces to the left. Ex. 6% = 0.06 (Don’t forget to add a zero) Multiply the decimal form of the tax rate by the price of the item you are purchasing. Ex. 0.06 x $ cost of the item
3
So if an item costs $5.00 Sales tax is 6% Convert 6% to 0.06 So.06 x $5 = $0.31 The sales tax is $0.31 But the total price of the item is $5.00 + $0.31 = $5.31

1. Find out the % of the discount. Convert the % to a decimal. 2. Multiply the decimal by the original price. 3. Take the answer in step 2 and subtract it from the original price. Example 1)Discount 20% =.20, 2)$10 x.20 = $2.00 3) $10.00 - $2.00 = $8.00
