4 LEADERSHIP DEVELOPMENT Little happens without good leadership Activate a leadership search team Identify top 20 leaders then use them Conduct temple wide training programs Consider young people for positions Surround yourself with successful people. Provide them with authority!

5 Suspensions Suspensions are #1 problem of Shrine Review list of suspensions in January Organize special committee. Make calls! Print suspended names in publication Display list of names in temple lobby Delegate clubs & units to make contacts Suspensions are a year round project After receiving payment... thank noble

6 Recruitment Organize committee of 10 skilled nobles Team must use Membership Manual Print ample Novice Recruitment Charts List prospects and track to the Shrine Establish quotas for clubs and units Host Master Masons night at clubs Conduct ceremonials in jurisdiction Achieve 5% membership growth

7 Restorations Work suspended noble... 3 years back Recruit 3 dedicated nobles to make calls Study reason nobles drop out of Shrine Determine fees, make calls 6PM to 8PM Prepare a good opening message... Listen to his needs & desires. Listen! Never give up after he says no… Strive to restore 2% each year

8 Retention Retention starts on ceremonial day What we say, do and don’t do is critical Novice wants to be accepted & involved Listen to his needs, desires, concerns Provide fellowship, enjoyable activities, networking, leadership opportunities, family benefits. Keep nobles happy!

9 Mentor Program Mentoring is like caring for family Assign a mentor to every new noble Provide mentoring for one year Help, aid, assist, teach and encourage Never allow him to be alone at events Lead him until he can become a mentor Share quality values of Shrine Get him involved in a club or unit...

10 Programs - Traditions Many current programs are obsolete Programs are designed for older nobles Many traditions are no longer effective Can’t do business today... like yesterday Conduct temple survey, identify needs! Feature young nobles in publication Try new events, activate new programs Change before it is to late. Modernize!

11 Shrine Ceremonials Ceremonials are critical! Novice is expecting a very quality event Treat novice like very important person Should be a day he will cherish forever Quality ladies program will add value Honor candidate with best performance Don’t expect much if he is embarrassed, harassed, distracted or hazed…

12 Aging Membership Aging membership increases every year Shrine needs mix of old & young nobles Events should be customized for both Need card carrying & active members Survey members, identify young nobles Organize young nobles with their peers Provide him leadership opportunities Encourage DeMolay events at temple

13 Masonic Relations Communicate with Grand Lodge often Do you know who they are? Do they know you? Hosting Masonic Family events Encourage one-day Masonic Classes Ask Grand Lodge how you can help Assist DeMolay. Offer Shrine facility...

14 Public Relations Take advantage of Imperial PR Material Compile First Class PR Press Kit to media Deliver TV - Radio - Newspapers a Kit Provide Speakers Bureau for events Provide quality articles in newspapers Display newspaper rack card in vendors Host media open house at your temple. Tell the shrine story to others!
