2. Background  American Beauty Academy is a Cosmetology and Barbering training school for adult learners.  They currently enroll new students to either program every month. Every student is required to participate in a new student orientation.  Currently, American Beauty Academy does not have e- learning opportunities for their students.  My mission for this program would be to have 60% of the students’ theory available online. The other 40% will take place in the classroom  The first step in doing this is by having a computer based student orientation.  The course will be a 3 hour online course. Having this course online will save the company time and money.

3. American Beauty Academy Online (ABAO) Mission Statement  ABAO is designed to allow students to learn outside of the basic classroom setting.  It will introduce the hair industry to students in an atmosphere that is comfortable and convenient for them.  Our mission is for our students to be able to keep up with the fast past environment of the hair business. The best way to demonstrate this is by exposing them to various learning/teaching styles.

4.  The course will use various forms of asynchronous tools.  The eLearning course will include: video introduction of staff members, virtual tour of the facility and discussion board questions based off of the student handbook all new students receive.  At the completion of the course, new students will receive their first certificate for their professional portfolios.
