Cover letter or email inquiry (no typos or mistakes) Highlight 2-3 key points that make you the right fit. Name drop if you have any to drop Include available times to meet Be assertive and interested, but not a STALKER Follow up with a personal drop off later

Research the school and district (Website, TWC, opening, and news) Arrive early Look professional Bring copies of resume Bring portfolio and samples of work Practice for the interview Make sure application is complete and submitted Get rest prior

Eye contact and body language Look enthusiastic without being cheesy or fake Humor a positive Work your strengths and research into your responses Connect with teachers in the interview Global learning, Common Core Skills, Technology, Differentiation, Collaboration, Ability to build relationships, content knowledge are keys items Have your questions ready

Email thanking participants Don’t harass, but follow up according to timeline If offered the job, be ready to accept or decline. Act appreciative even if you don’t get the job because principals may refer or other openings may follow Be patient but not picky
