2 United Nations Development Programme Oslo Governance Centre  WG on R2D & Social Forum reports: see poverty as cause and consequence of human rights violations.  The Committee on Economic, Social and Cultural Rights defined poverty as a human condition of sustained or chronic deprivation of resources, capabilities, choices, security and power. To reduce poverty is to increase enjoyment of adequate standards of living and civil, cultural, economic, political and social rights  Discussions / Reports on Globalization o Liberalization may enhance growth, both necessary not sufficient; o Inequalities are not inevitable; o Political will, social dialogue, partnerships with private sectors and coordination of local-national-intern’l action, can produce effective pro poor results o Via capturing & sharing knowledge, assist countries in the choice of financing & implementation models and accountability measures for pro poor policies Governance and Poverty [Linking to Social Forum Discussion]
