4. Definite versus Indefinite Definite articles will tell someone exactly what you are talking about. Ex. The chair. (Speaking specifically, is about a certain chair) Indefinite articles will tell someone the idea of what you are talking about. Ex. A chair. (Speaking generally, could be about any chair)
