4 4 What is the levels program? Intended to make motorcycling safer by: Increasing motorcycle skills through education and training Reduce injuries and fatalities Reduce accident rates Aid in Member retention  GWRRA Version March 2013 Level Up

8 8 The “Mechanics” – continued Requirements – Level I Current GWRRA Membership Commitment of the Rider and Co-Rider to strive for, practice, and encourage safe riding.  GWRRA Version March 2013 Level Up

9 9 The “Mechanics” – continued Requirements – Level II –Current GWRRA Membership –Enrolled in Level I of the REP –Have 5,000 safe miles on bike Rider: –Current M/C endorsement as required in home state/province. –Approved on-bike riding course within last 3 years or…. –A sanctioned* Parking Lot Practice (PLP) within the last year. *Refer to Rider Ed Handbook for Sanctioned PLP use in the Levels Program and Requirements  GWRRA Version March 2013 Level Up

11 The “Mechanics” – continued Requirements – Level III Current GWRRA Membership Enrolled and current in Level II of the REP * Current First Aid, CPR, or MFAcertification Carry a First Aid kit on motorcycle GWRRA Motorist Awareness Seminar 11 * NOTE: PLP cannot be used for Level III  GWRRA Version March 2013 Level Up

12 Motorist Awareness (MA) Seminar –Exposes the Member to our program to improve awareness of all road users to the presence of motorcycle, trike, and sidecar enthusiasts. –When interfacing with the public in the future, the Level III Rider or Co-Rider can inform them about what we have available to help others share the road with us. –GWRRA University Trainers certified in Rider Education are authorized to present Motorist Awareness Seminars. –Recertification is not required for the MA Seminar 12  GWRRA Version March 2013 Level Up

13 13 The “Mechanics” – continued Requirements – Level IV Current GWRRA Membership Enrolled and current in Level III for one full year Current in both First Aid and CPR Minimum 25,000 safe miles Always Wear PROPER RIDING GEAR while riding  GWRRA Version March 2013 CO- Level Up

14 14 The “Mechanics” – continued Proper Riding Gear - ATGATT (All The Gear All The Time ) DOT approved helmet Eye protection Full-Fingered gloves Over-the-ankle footwear Long sleeves (not “riding pull on/off sleeves”) Long ‘sturdy’ pants (Only cover those parts of the body you wish to use later in life)  GWRRA Version March 2013 Level Up

15 15 The “Mechanics” – continued Safe Miles Program:  Part of Levels program  Accident-free miles since joining GWRRA  Revert to ZERO if/when accident occurs  Any incident that results in reportable property damage or personal injury during the operation or use of a motorcycle.  Reportable includes:  Law enforcement accident report  Insurance claim that was filed as a result of the incident.  Pins available in 5,000 mile increments  Rockers available in 100,000 mile increments  GWRRA Version March 2013 Level Up

17 17 The “Mechanics” – continued Masters Recognition Program: Level IV Master Tour Riders /Co-Riders Who remain active, and current –  5 years – Senior Master Status  10 years – Grand Master Status  15 years – Life Grand Master Status A Motorist Awareness Seminar is needed to remain current after 1/1/2013. 2013 is the bridge year – a grace period where there in no time penalty against being current as long as it is done in 2013 for those who have already attained Level IV.  GWRRA Version March 2013 Level Up
