13 ---1.Origin of Bonsai--- The origin of bonsai is old. The first time that bonsai was written in the Japanese document is Kamakura period (13- 14C). There is the report that the origin of bonsai is “Bonkei” that was imported by the Japanese envoy to Tang Dynasty China. But the thought they plant the bonsai and straighten the shape of it for explaining the Japanese scenery or nature-views in bonsai itself. From the end of Kamakura period to Muromachi period (14-16C) bonsai became so popular among the samurai society from the court noble society.
