2 Q: How do cites in Europe draw people’s attention because of their specialties? LT: I can explain how culture defines my chosen group in the world today and how this group shows a unique perspective.

3 Tunics: an outfit that is like wearing a long tee shirt.

4 Paris=Eiffel Tower  Designed by Gustave Eiffel  Finished in 1889  Built of 18,000 iron pieces  Supposed to be taken down but was left up  Kings Island Eiffel tower is only 1/3 of the real one Rome=Roman Colosseum  Built for an emperor to win his people’s love and happiness  Is a theater for shows of murder  People like to watch shows of people dying  When one person dies, another comes in to fight.

6 Paris= Notre Dame  Was almost set on fire in 1871 and some say a staircase was set on fire  After many years of torture, all the art in Notre Dame is polished and back to its “honey looking” color.  Much of the original paintings in the building were destroyed, but were remade by someone else to recapture their beauty. Rome= Saint Peter’s Church  The central tower is 265 feet tall!!!  Stained glass windows include pictures of Jesus being born, of Jesus on the cross, when he rose from the dead, and many other bible scenes  In the Sistine Chapel, there is a very famous picture of God giving Adam life.

8 Paris  Fork goes in left hand and the knife goes in the right  Most people in Paris do not eat until after 8:00  People in Paris try to eat healthy and stay away from fast food  Their main meal is dinner Rome  They are very proper just like people in Paris  When a guest is over, a meal could last 1-4 hours  The main meal is served like this= course 1: pasta, course 2: meat or fish, course 3: vegetables  When some one is finished, they place their silverware parallel on their plate.

9 In Paris, most people speak French. There may be some other languages here and there. A Paris, la plupart des gens parlent le français. Il peut y avoir quelques autres langues ici et là.

10 In Rome, 60% of the people speak Latin. The other 40% speak English. A Rome, 60% des gens parlent latin. L'autre 40% parlent l'anglais.

11 Paris= Sofitel Paris Le Faubourg  The price can be $304 per night!! Rome= Palazzo Manfredi  The price can be $392 per night!!

13 Paris= Le Grand Vefour  People say it is a very nice place to eat  It is one of the most expensive restaurants in Paris Rome= Ristorante Eleonora D’Arborea  Serves mainly seafood  About $70-$126 per meal

15 Paris  Paris has many shopping malls  Some stores are the same as ours and some are different Rome  Rome has designer shops all over the place  Not many of the same stores as the US

17 Paris  Wear jackets with their outfits  Wear a skirt or dress Rome  A white tunic that goes to the feet if going outside  Girls try to look their best everyday
