Table of Contents History of Global Warming Cause of Effect of Global Warming Pros and Cons of Global Warming Global Warming in the 21 st Century Opinion Pictures Bibliography

History of Global Warming Global warming began 18,000 years ago as the earth started warming its way out of the Pleistocene ice age. Warming in the 20 th century is greater than at any time during the past 400-600 years. Since the beginning of the 20 th century, the average surface departure of the earth has increased by about 1.1 degrees Fahrenheit. Seven of the ten warmest years in the 20 th century occurred in the 1990s. In 1998, with global temperature spiking due to one of the strongest El Niños on record, since we have records that we can rely on.

Causes and Effect of Global Warming. They are many causes of global warming like the following: energy use and production, chlorofluorocarbons, cultural practices, changes in land use, other industrial activities, electricity generation, transportation, residential, commercial, and mainly the greenhouse gases. They’re also many effects of global warming most current and widely discussed factor, fundamental threat on all living things on Earth, rising sea levels, melting of icecaps, worldwide climate changes, earth has warmed up about 1 degrees Fahrenheit over 100 years, and greatest environmental challenge in the 21 st century.

Pros and Cons of Global Warming Pros The levels of carbon dioxide in the atmosphere has increased 30% Over 100 years people have been burning increasing quantities of fossil fuels. The 4 hottest years since accurate records began have all been in the last decade. Average temp. have increased by.6 degrees Celsius since the 19 th century. Cons Temp. have increased over the century, but between the 1930s and 1970s temp actually dropped slightly. Accurate records don’t cover al long enough period to be useful. There was a mini-ice age around 400 years ago. It is still not a proven fact that mankind is causing global warming.

Global Warming in 21 st Century Even if no more greenhouse gases were added to the atmosphere, globally averaged surface air temp. would rise about half degree Celsius. Global sea levels would rise another 11 cm from thermal expansion by 2100, according to the researchers. The researchers compare possible climate scenarios during the 21 st century in which greenhouse gases continue to build in the atmosphere at low, moderate, or high rates. The worst case scenario projects an average temperatures rise of 3.5 degrees Celsius; sea level rise from thermal expansion of 30 centimeters by 2100.

Opinion The groups opinion on global warming is that is is very important that something is done. First of all, we need to protect global warming so that future generations have clean air. Secondly, if there is so much radiation coming in to the earth, it will make the world to hot. You will probably have to wear special suit s to protect your body from the strong radiation. People won’t be able to go the the beach because the water will be to hot. We won’t have as much fun.

Thirdly, the heat will get so hot it will melt all the ice on the earth, including Antarctica, which will then cause the earth to overflow with water. People couldn't be able to live under these conditions. It would take out the entire human race. In conclusion, the United Nation should make global warming one of their top priorities We are dealing with the human race. Everybody on the earth could die. Cont. Opinion
