Habitat and Range Prefers bright sunlight. It often grows on flood plains and other areas with plenty of water supply. It grows around houses and in hedges, as well as on ground and vacant lots.

Uses Although its light, and soft wood is considered undesirable for most uses, this tree has been considered as source of wood fiber, for use in fiberboard.
