Matter state and its changes
The state of matter are
2
The state of matter are:-
Solid state as; Ice –sugar –iron -wood Liquid state as; Water –oil –alcohol -mercury Gaseous state as; Air-oxygen –water vapour
3
Matter states:-
5
Solid matter:- It has a definite shape and volume. Activity 1:-
To prove that the solid matter has a definite shape and volume. Observation :- The volume and the shape of each body do not change. Conclusion:- Solids have definite shapes and volumes.
6
Why are the gold and copper solids?
Because they have definite shapes and volumes.
7
Liquid matter:- It has a definite volume and an indefinite shape (it takes the shape of its container). Activity 2:- To prove that the liquid matter has a definite volume and an indefinite shape. Observation:- The volume of water does not change ,but its shape changes taking the shape of its container. Conclusion:- Liquid have definite volumes but they do not have Definite shapes.
8
Why is milk liquid? Because it has a definite volume and an indefinite shapes.
9
Gaseous matter:- It has not a indefinite shape or volume . Activity:-
To prove that gaseous matter has not a definite shape or volume. Observation:- The shape and volume of air change by pressing on the balloon. Calculation:- Gases have not definite shapes or volume.
11
Why is air a gaseous matter?
Because the air has not definite shape or volume.

../../2014 Matter states What are the states of matter? H.W:-
What are the properties of liquid state? What are the properties of solid state? What are the properties of gaseous state? H.W:- Answer about these questions?
