Current Life.. Well First of all, this guy is still alive. He’s a German novelist, poet, playwright, illustrator, graphic artist, and sculptor. A recipient of the 1999 Nobel Prize in Literature. He is widely regarded as Germany's most famous living writer.

Early Years Grass was born in Danzig, Poland on October 16,1927. He has one sister, who was born in 1930. Grass attended the Danzig Gymnasium Conradinum. Grass was a member of Hitler Youth. He was injured in the Second World War and also kept captive as a prisoner of war

Major Works Published in 1959, Die Blechtrommel (The Tin Drum) In 1961, Katz und Maus (Cat and Mouse), a novella.Cat and Mousenovella In 1963 the novel, Hundejahre (Dog Years).Dog Years In 2002, he returns and writes, Im Krebsgang (Crabwalk), a novella.
