L EARNING S EQUENCE Read Toot and Puddle and reviewed literary elements to ensure students knew characters, plot, problem, solution Told students we were going to be published authors as we wrote text to go with the illustrations Brief picture walk so students would know how the plot would unfold Began to compose text as a class *composed as a whole group *voted to make decisions Took about 2 weeks to complete composing text Edited together Each student illustrated at least one page Scanned illustrated pages and printed books for each student Read published books for other classes and presented a copy to the library
