Unit name President Dunn Addresses Board of Trustees, April 2012 As a University, we are committed to providing our students with the kind of living/learning environments from which they will most benefit. To that end, we've embarked on a long-term master planning and implementation effort that will ultimately involve some new construction and some significant renovations and improvements to all of our residential areas.

6. Unit name Integrating Housing & Dining Plan 2015 was outlined by Dr. Diane K. Anderson, vice president for student affairs, during a July 18, 2013 report to the WMU Board of Trustees. The initiative is a comprehensive housing and dining strategy, tailored to WMU's overall strategic plan, that will transform campus life. It features both new and renovated residence halls and new and enhanced dining facilities that will encourage students to connect with their fellow students as they enjoy restaurant-style amenities and choices.

Unit name New Residence Hall Complex: Western Heights http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=GBM1H9icEkA Major building projects that are part of the plan include a $48- million, 750-bed residence hall complex that will comprise much of the Center Neighborhood. The new residence hall complex will be targeted at incoming students and will include such features as central but private bath areas maintained by house staff and third- floor social and recreational areas open to all residents.

11. Raze Hoekje and Bigelow Halls. Upgrade bathrooms and furniture in the Valley Neighborhood residence halls. Western View II and Community Center. Re-open Valley III (housing and dining). Construct New Residence Halls targeted at freshmen. Construct a New Valley Dining Center to serve the Valley Neighborhood. Raze Stadium Drive Apartments. Develop and integrate a residential neighborhood concept into campus-culture. HOUSING AND DINING PLAN 2015 Have implemented or are on track for successful implementation of all components of Plan 2015.

12. STRATEGY TEAM: HOUSING AND DINING PLAN 2015 Accomplishment: Alignment of resources and operations to accomplish long range, strategic, integrated financial and operational strategies. Student Affairs auxiliary operations moved from an annual budget that set aside as little as 1% of annual budget for long-range strategic initiatives to as much 20% of the annual budget in recent years. STRATEGY TEAM: HOUSING AND DINING PLAN 2015 Over a five-year period, housing and dining have invested in the recruitment and retention of students and the student experience by: Providing over $5 million dollars to student-residents in the form discount programs. Providing over $5 million to student-residents in the form of scholarships. Investing $58 million in routine maintenance and capital improvements.
