1 ALT Fuels Colorado Vehicle Program

2 Program Overview Partnership with Colorado Energy Office (CEO) and Colorado Department of Transportation $30 million over four years for alternative fuel vehicles and fueling stations $15 million for vehicles administered by RAQC and $15 million for stations administered by CEO In year two, $4 million allotted for vehicles

3 Program Goals Incentivize the purchase of OEM, class 2-8 CNG, CNG bi-fuel, Electric and Propane vehicles Why? – Reduce harmful air pollutants – Retire pre-2010 diesel and gas vehicles – Support CEO and DOLA infrastructure – Increase demand for OEM alternative fuel vehicles – Expand the use of domestic energy sources – Gather data and promote fleet sustainability

4 Eligible Fleets Who? – Eligible fleets must be domiciled in or near the Colorado ozone non-attainment and/or carbon monoxide maintenance areas and predominately operate in the ozone non-attainment and/or carbon monoxide maintenance areas – Predominant use is defined as 60% of vehicle miles taking place in the program area

5 Program Area Fleets in the following counties are eligible for funding: -Adams -Arapahoe -Boulder -Broomfield -Denver -Douglas -Jefferson -Parts of Larimer -Parts of Weld -Parts of El Paso and -Parts of Teller counties

7 Program Funding How much? – 80% of the incremental cost between the AFV and the comparable conventionally fueled diesel or gas vehicle up to the caps below – Private fleets may be eligible for added tax credits

9 Partner Incentives Noble Energy – CNG schools buses – School districts in Ozone non-attainment areas and Weld County – If awarded, district will receive $60,000 on top of RAQC incentive. – Apply to RAQC’s process first

10 Partner Incentives Department of Local Affairs (DOLA) – Alternative fuel stations and vehicles for municipalities, counties, & special districts – Incentives: Stations: Statewide incentives with a minimum 25% local match Vehicles: Incentives range depending on location – Apply to RAQC’s process first – Contact Regional Managers for more info
