2 Lady Bulldog Track 2015 Practice Schedule: Please See Detailed Schedule Provided Mon. – Thurs. = 3:35 PM – 5:00 PM  3:35 – 4:15 = sprint/distance w.o. (if not completed in athl. Per.) shot/disc (3:35-4:30)  4:15 – 5:00 = Relays, Hurdles, Long/Triple Friday: 7:00 – 7:55 AM (Running W.O.); hurdles PM  ** 7:30 AM 2x – 3x per week = High Jump (see calendar)  Pole Vault = 3x per week @ Reagan 4:30 – 5:30 PM (see calendar)

3 Policies and Procedures Please drop off /pick-up athletes in lower parking lot no later than 15 minutes before/after scheduled practice time Athletes may leave as soon as they have finished their practice obligations; athletes finish times will vary once they have been assigned to their running and/or field events Please call or email ASAP if athlete will miss practice or a track meet: kweber@neisd.net 210-356-2932

4 Team Dismissal VIOLATION OF ANY NEISD POLICY: DRUGS, WEAPONS, ALCOHOL, HAZING ABSENCES/TARDIES FROM PRACTICE DISCIPLINE PROBLEMS ON CAMPUS, IN THE CLASSROOM, OR AT PRACTICE/MEETS THEFT LACK OF EFFORT

5 Reminders If your daughter is involved in multiple school activities, it is her responsibility to communicate with her coach. Each athlete is responsible for locking up her belongings; coaches will not be responsible for any losses. Leaving AM practice to attend morning coaching requires a parent note.

6 MORE REMINDERS No jewelry may be worn during practice or at meets P.E. or athletic uniforms are required during practice Track T-Shirt Available (not required): $20.00 Please direct general track questions to Coach Walls: lwalls@neisd.net

7 Lady Bulldog Track 2015 Track Meet Procedures: Transportation will be provided TO all FROM all track meets….athletes may leave with a parent at the conclusion of their event(s) Athletes are to sign-out with Coach Weber/Walls prior to leaving each meet with a parent.

8 Track Meet Selection Athletes may compete in as many as 5 events  Max = 3 running with 5 total Time Trials/ Field Event “jump offs/throw offs” etc. will determine participants for each track meet. 3 entrants are allowed per event. It is possible that an athlete on our team will not qualify for a track meet. The top 3 will qualify to represent Bush at each track meet. Weekly challenges will be provided.

9 Coaches’ Roles Set a good example for players and spectators Be positive, fair, and consistent with athletes Make track meet entries based on time trials, field event challenges, attitude, and practice attendance/effort Establish and organize practice Be an effective communicator with players and parents

10 Coaches’ Roles Continued Protect the safety of all athletes Inform athletes of all expectations, procedures, and rules Provide all players/parents with practice and meet schedules

11 Parents’ Roles Be a fan of everyone on the team Respect other fans, coaches, and athletes Please don’t talk to coaches at the meet about a complaint/concern Please call or email to schedule an appt. with coaching staff Understand that track meet entries are based on “the watch” and the “tape measure” and practice attendance/effort

12 Players’ Roles Be positive and have a great attitude Support and encourage all team members Exhibit a strong work ethic If they have questions, ask coach first (“open door”)

13 Players’ Roles Be a positive role model on the track and in the classroom Know and follow school and team rules Be on time to all practices Be responsible for personal belongings Challenge themselves as an athlete and person

14 Players’ Roles Meet classroom expectations Notify coach of any scheduling conflicts in advance Talk to coach about any special concerns Always remember that participating in athletics is a PRIVILEGE and an OPPORTUNITY to represent Bush Middle School in a positive light HAVE FUN!!!!!

15 Girls Athletic Text Message/Email Alerts Make sure you have signed up for our email distribution list (played any other sport you should already be receiving) Make sure and sign-up for Remind 101 – Text Message Alerts (again should already be receiving if played vball or bball)
