3 Graduation Requirements Students must also take and pass the Computer Applications 1 course (transcripted with CVTC) Or Students must pass a computer literacy exam

4 Night School/Summer School Credit remediation options are available through Night School and Summer School Night School is only offered in the Spring and begins February 18 Social Studies – meets on Wednesdays English – meets on Thursdays Science – Mondays beginning March 23

5 College Entrance Requirements Differ from high school graduation requirements Technical College requirements vary by program Minimum high school coursework for four year colleges include: English4 years Math3 years (Alg., Geom., Alg. II) UMD now requires 4 years Science3 years (Phys Sci, Bio, Chem/Physics) Social Studies3 years Foreign Language?2 years (Madison, EC, MN) ACT/SAT, Class Rank, GPA

7 Career Planning & Testing ACT All juniors will take the ACT in early March. You do NOT have to register for that test date as the school is already registered. If you choose to retake the ACT you would need to register on the ACT website at: www.actstudent.org www.actstudent.org SAT COMPASS ASVAB

10 Schedule Changes Please keep in mind that student course requests help determine which classes will be offered and how many sections of classes will be available. In short, many important decisions are based on the number of course requests. There is no guarantee that a class will be available if you change your mind in August. Are strongly discouraged after classes begin If you need to make a change to your schedule it should be done during registration week in August

11 Withdrawal Procedures 2014-15: No penalty if request is received within 5 school days following the posting of mid-quarter grades (approximately 1 st week of October and 2 nd week of March). 2015-16: No penalty if request is received by the end of the 7 th week of quarters 1 and 3. Students will be placed in a study hall Youth Options, Distance Education, etc. will have different deadlines.
