1 Welcome to a day in the life of a Kindergartner!

2 Meet the teachers! I am married and I have one son. We love to travel, especially back to Minnesota to see our families. This is my 10 th year teaching and my 7 th year teaching kindergarten.

15 Students can earn up to 7 points a day.

17 Explorer Portfolios Portfolios will go home 7 different times. Please keep all items in your child’s portfolio. Please return your child’s portfolio by the due date. You can always come and check out your child’s portfolio. Explorer portfolios go home tonight.

18 Homework in kindergarten is reading for 10 minutes.

19 Assessments and Grading MAP- Measure of Academic Progress Test in the fall, winter, and spring https://www.nwea.org/assessments/map/ DRA- Developmental Reading Assessment Test in the fall, winter, and spring Quarterly Reports 4 (exceeding), 3 (meeting), 2 (progressing), 1 (developing) Find in portfolios under reports.

20 Expedition Expectations The students are expected to follow the core values on all expeditions. Parent chaperones are needed on some expeditions. –Siblings aren’t allowed (sorry). –Please show up on time and be ready to help. –Don’t forget to do the power point sent out by Ms. Bayonne.
