Where can I find rainforests around the world? The map below shows the location of the world's tropical rainforests. Rainforests cover only a small part of the earth's surface - about 6%, yet they are home to over half the species of plants and animals in the world. Rainforests can be found in over 85 countries around the world! Quit

What kind of animals live in the rainforest? The rainforest is home to more than half of the world's animals. All types of creatures are represented, from tiny insects to large mammals. Many of the animals found in the rainforest are becoming endangered because their homes (trees) are being cut down! What is the weather like in the rain forest? Tropical rainforests are very wet, and very warm in temperature. It can rain EVERYDAY in the rainforest!!! Rainforests can get up to 60-70 inches of rain in 1 year! It is usually between 75-80 degrees all year long in the rain forest. (This would be like having early summer weather all year!) Rain forest fun facts Rainforests are found on every continent across the Earth, except Antarctica. There are two major types of rainforest: temperate rainforests and tropical rainforests. The largest temperate rainforests are found on North America's Pacific Coast and stretch from Northern California up into Canada. Rainforests are critical in maintaining the Earth's limited supply of drinking and fresh water. Quit
