2 Cognates Many Spanish and English words have Latin or Greek roots and the same meaning; these words are called cognates. The Spanish language borrows many words from English. By knowing a few simple rules about cognates, students can quickly expand their vocabulary in Spanish or English. Complete Pg. 10 in the green book – How many cognates can you recognize? SAY the English meaning for each word. DO NOT WRITE IN THE TEXTBOOK After, we will discuss your findings

5 Presentational Speaking B.Create a skit where you interview a Spanish teacher from another country. Your skit must include greetings, questions and answers about who the teacher is and where he or she is from, and good- byes. A.Create a conversation where you introduce yourself to a new classmate. Your classmate asks how you are and where you are from. Ask where your new classmate is from. Then tell your classmate that you are pleased to meet him or her.
