COMMENCEMENT 2015 Masters and Doctoral Candidates

Commencement Eligibility Degree candidates for Fall 2014, Winter 2015, Spring 2015 and Summer 2015 are eligible to participate in the May 2015 Commencement ceremony. You must have completed an application for degree. Participants must be in good academic standing. August 2015 candidates should be 6 credits of completion of all degree requirements including comprehensive exams, projects or thesis.

Planning on Participating in Commencement? Tickets are required to attend the 2015 Commencement ceremonies, in order to ensure that each student's guests will have seating in William Rolland Stadium for this special event. Each student is allotted up to six (6) tickets. Beginning on February 2, 2015, tickets were available to all graduating students through an online reservation system accessible via a link on the Commencement home page. Children two years old or younger do not need a ticket if they sit on the lap of an adult. Guests without tickets may view a broadcast of the ceremony in the air-conditioned Gilbert Arena. Guests will also be able to view a live webcast online via a link on the CLU home page. When guests arrive at the stadium they must enter through the gate printed on their ticket. No one is admitted into the stadium without a ticket.

SPECIAL NEEDS Any graduating student or guest attending commencement, requiring accommodations for a disability needs to contact the Accessibility Resources Program Coordinator at dss@callutheran.edu or 493-3878 one month prior to the ceremony. dss@callutheran.edu One guest may sit with the individual needing accommodations. Tickets must be presented at the reserved accessible seating area gate.

Caps and Gowns Orders for caps and gowns must be made directly through Jostens. (1-800-353-5299) or at Jostens.com Late fees are applicable after April 1 st.

Announcements & Class Rings Personalized announcements must be ordered directly through Jostens (1-800-353-5299). Representatives will be on campus to take class ring orders throughout the semester. The bookstore will post dates representatives will be available.

Hooding Hood colors indicates the degree received not by Discipline. Please make sure you have the correct hood. Master degree candidates wear their hoods We have different hood colors for Master of Science, Master of Arts, Master of Education, Master of Business Administration, Master of Public Policy and Administration and for Doctoral Degrees.

Master of Science Master of Science Golden Yellow This includes: Clinical Psychology, Counseling Psychology, Counseling and Guidance, Special Education, Computer Science, Information Systems & Technology and Economics.

Doctoral Students Hooding is part of the ceremony. Candidates will drape their hood over their arms until it is time to be hooded.

COMMENCEMENT DAY Friday, May 15, 2015 Gates open at 8:00am Line up begins 9:00am Procession begins 9:55am Commencement begins 10:00am Please prepare for all weather situations.

PROCESSION Lineup—Soiland Arena inside the Gilbert Arena No food or beverages allowed. Any purses or backpacks will be searched. Enter the Arena through the back doors (by the swimming pool) Check in at tables & pick up your name card. Masters candidates wear your hoods. Doctoral candidates drape your hood over your left arm. To prevent injuries please refrain from wearing high heeled shoes. Remain in TWO LINES as you process. Only 24 students per row. Exit the stage on the same side you are lined up on. Follow the marshalls to your seats

PARKING There will be parking on Olsen Road on the side closest to sports complex. Parking is available on south campus. There are areas for handicapped parking Shuttles are available but if your party arrives late it may be quicker to walk to save time and secure better seating. Please inform your guests to enter the stadium through the gate printed on their ticket(s).

Photographs As you exit the stage after your name is called a professional photographer will take your picture. Proofs will be sent to your CLU e-mail address the following week. Or you may contact the photographer after a couple of weeks at www.ultimateexposures.com.www.ultimateexposures.com A video will be available for purchase. Contact 805 493-3949.

Etiquette Please be in your full academic attire at lineup. For your safety do not wear high heel shoes. Families & guests are not allowed in lineup area. All bags and purses will be searched. No beverages or food are allowed in the line up area or stadium. Bottles of water will be passed out to each participant. Please follow directions of security and volunteers. No alcohol is allowed on campus. No cell phone usage. Return to your seats after your name has been called and your photograph taken. Remain seated. CLU reserves the right to remove anyone from the Commencement ceremony.
