What the WRA does not cover The WRA does not specifically review: Allowances structure and amount. Warlike and Operational Conditions of service. Conditions of service covering special nature of military service. Placement within the pay grades. Any other condition of service. Directorate of Military Remuneration

The Remuneration Picture Operational and Warlike Service Special conditions of service on a case by case basis. Not in the WRA. Special Nature of Military Service Allowances reflect the special characteristics of military service (service allowance, disability allowances etc). Core Salary and Conditions of Service ADF WRA: Recognition of across-the-board Defence renewal, performance and efficiency through pay rises. Determined Separately for ADF: Other conditions of service shared with wider workforce: leave, relocation, travel, etc. DECA No Civilian Equivalent WRA Directorate of Military Remuneration Other DFRT Cases Decided by Government Approved by Minister

Productivity and efficiency Current Government Policy requires: Genuine productivity gains are demonstrable, permanent improvements in the efficiency, effectiveness and/or output of members, based on reform of work practices or conditions resulting in measurable savings. Superannuation The Government has announced the introduction of ADF Super New military superannuation arrangement for people joining the ADF from 1 July 2016. There will be no change to the superannuation conditions of serving or retired members of the ADF: –Serving MSBS members may choose to join ADF Super –Serving DFRDB members will not be able to join ADF Super Directorate of Military Remuneration

Superannuation ADF Super will be a fully funded accumulation plan –employer contribution rate of 15.4 per cent –increasing to 18 per cent during periods of warlike service –death and invalidity cover the same as MSBS –choice for individuals over which superannuation scheme they belong to –portability of their superannuation benefit –supports flexible work arrangements Further details will be published on the Defence PeopleConnect website as they become available Directorate of Military Remuneration
