Overview? PS/2 referred to as the mouse port or keyboard port, the PS/2 port was developed by IBM and is used to connect a computer mouse or keyboard.(IBM- The International Business Machines ) Introduced in 1987 Contains six pins, Being replaced with USB In this picture it shows how the ps/2 which is shown on the back of the your computer.

WHAT IS IT? Older laptops and motherboards have a single port that supports either a keyboard or a mouse. A port (wire) that connects a keyboard and mouse to the PC.

Typical Speciation's There are two sizes, one with a diameter of about 1/4 inch and the other with a diameter of about 3/8 inch. Smaller size more common Purple = keyboard Green = Mouse

Future Trends Ps/2 port – USB Turning the port into a usb so its compatible and you are able to use it with any other then a keyboard and mouse.
