From home page, look for the bar across the page, click on STUDENT SERVICES or look for Library, under STUDENT SERVICES. 2. Knowledge is Empowerment Why browsing through ERIC Thesaurus The Thesaurus tells you the words to use in your searching, sometimes we need to think in general terms, instead of specific terms Browse for nouns and adjectives. Do not use articles, verbs or adverbs

Knowledge is Empowerment A new thesaurus Browse screen is display. Enter your search term in the Browse field, and select Terms Begins With

Knowledge is Empowerment What Browse field do you want to use? If you select Terms Begins With, the list displays the terms in alphabetical order If you select Term Contains, the term searched for appears first followed by a list of terms displayed in alphabetical order If you select Relevancy Ranked, it will appears the exact match for the term first in order of relevance

Knowledge is Empowerment The words to be browse are: “EDUCATIONAL THEORIES” OR “TEACHING THEORIES.” Let’s search EDUCATIONAL THEORIES first

Knowledge is Empowerment Let me briefly explain you the reason why we need to use the index Our vocabulary is not the same as the database, we need to learn the database vocabulary We need to be sure we are searching with the right terms, otherwise we are loosing results, and loosing relevant articles for my term paper, essay or theses The index tells you how many articles are indexed under each term, so you know what to expect The index tells you what terms to use in your search

Knowledge is Empowerment Enter your term in the Browse for field, for example EDUCATIONAL THEORIES and click Browse. From the list, select your terms. See 8311 records
