A subject is the person or thing that is or does something. A verb is the action that the subject performs in the sentence.

Whether the verb is singular or plural determines if it is the action of a group or a single thing. If the verb is singular it will end in “t” If the verb is plural it will end in “nt”

Look at the subject and verbs 1. Cornelia et Flavia in agris currunt. Cornelia and Flavia run into the fields. -the subject is plural because there are two people and the verb is plural because it ends in nt.
