2 The Cruise Industry is growing 2 million Brits to cruise by 2014

Rises in APD discouraging air travel 10% increase in the number of ex-UK cruises 22,000 Brits took a Round Britain cruise in 2010 Plus, Southampton was named the busiest cruise port in Northern Europe

7 Ultra-Luxury Cruising still on the up... Holidays are still considered to be a necessary luxury (Kuoni) Trip Advisor says more British holidaymakers are likely to enjoy a luxury holiday by far-flung shores in 2011 66 per cent of recession-weary Brits intend to spend more and to travel further in 2011 The ultra-luxury cruise sector grew by 6% in 2010 Since 2004, sales in the Ultra- Luxury sector have grown 46% 1 in 7 of all cruise passengers pay more than £2,500 per head

8 Cruise Industry – Booking Methods In 2010, over three quarters of cruise passengers book through travel agents

9 New to Cruise continues... In 2010, 1 in every 3 passengers was on their first-ever cruise Cruising has attracted 2.4m first timers over the past five years. More families are now cruising with children so the average age of a cruise passenger has therefore dropped (7% of passengers were under 18 years old; 13% of passengers are under 35)
