Shapes of magnets There are different types of magnets: Bar-maagnet U-shaped magnet Round magnets

Poles of the magnet Any magnet is made up of two poles The north pole (N) The south pole (S)

Poles interactions Similar poles of different magnets will repel each other. (N-N and S-S) Opposite poles will attract each other. (N-S andS-N)

What happens when you break a magnet? The poles of a magnet can never be separated. When you break a magnet, it forms two new magnets. A magnet is made up of many small magnets
