8. 8 CIVLS IMPROVEMENTS On Line Tax Collector Capabilities Real Time Put-ons / Take-offs – CIVLS will provide Tax Collectors access to a “Portal” to do real time put-ons and take-offs so that the customer can go back home and register (i.e. renew) their registrations on-line – DMV would also support the Towns processing the renewals for their citizens at a fee not to exceed $2 (and/or no fee if the Town prefers) so the customer can have a one-stop experience with their local Municipality As with any new service offering, the DMV would advise speaking with Municipal Corporate Counsel prior to exercising this option. 9. 9 CIVLS IMPROVEMENTS On Line PORTAL Tax Collector Capabilities The CIVLS Web Portal will allow the Collectors to process real time put- ons and take-offs. To access the DMV portal you will need: – A PC with access to the Internet – A web browser. The following are supported: Current versions of Microsoft Internet Explorer Current versions of Apple Safari Current version of Mozilla Firefox Current version of Google Chrome A User Identifier and associated password. The User ID will be obtained through a DMV Administrator. Specific information regarding the start of the testing process will be provided.
