#2 Name Change on STInet Name Reference Only Doesn’t Change Name outside STInet like in Systems Such as TIES, Payroll Make Request for Change with Supervisor Supervisor will Complete a TASK Ticket for IT Ex: William wants his name referenced as “Bill” in STInet Locations he can’t control with “Personal Information” preferred name.

#3 Midterm & Final Grade Submissions through LMS Courses ( Handouts Distributed ) Midterm Submission – Start at Gradebook – Setup in LMS – Code You Choose – Absences Populated from Attendance Markings – Print the Screen Final Submission – Grades and Absences Columns Populated by LMS – LDoA is last day “Present” – Populated from Attendance – INC Grades – Fix in LMS “Past Course” - Document Paperwork to Registrar STInet Tasks Calendar – Note Online Faculty Calendar

#4 Add a Role vs 2 nd Instructor Instructors with Lab Specialists who Enter Grades and/or Attendance in Their Courses – Add a Role If 2 Instructors are Co-Teaching, Splitting Workload and Both Evaluated... Both on as Instructors through the Registrar “Add a Role” Does Not Allow Course Copy for the Person Added – Does Allow Other Instructor Permissions: Edit, Delete, Add “Add a Role” Bypasses the Online Course Eval Process

#5 New School Year Updates to Make in STInet Office Hours – Personal Info Link Syllabi – Use Naming Conventions! LMS Course Content – Edit or Build Program Pages – New Members – Minutes/Agendas Scheduling Meetings – September 1-16 – These Changes Will be Processed for a New Master Schedule for Spring 2011 and Summer 2011

#6 Context Manager Use Alternative Delivery Instructors Must Learn to Use These Features: – Adding Weekly Pages/Itineraries – Hiding Pages Attendance, Future Weeks – Changing Default Pages – Reordering Pages

#7 File Cabinet Housekeeping Course Content Import – Saves Imported Tests to Here – Do you Have Duplicate Files? – Begin Naming Tests and File Cabinet Contents with Course Number and Date – Perhaps Move Files into Named Class Folders – Delete “old” Items to Reduce Confusion

#8 Copy Course Reminders FROM and TO are important to have “straight” in your mind – Which Term? Which Section is the master? – Which Term? Which Section is the target? You can copy everything or selected course content. Copyover of Forums Data is also a Consideration If you Wish to Copy a Course from Another Teacher, it will Require some Additional Rights Given by Registrar or Craig in the System – Discuss with Jackie or David what you wish to accomplish and get advice!

#9 Fixing Bookmarks Look at your “My Pages” – If you have links to curriculum sheets or program team pages... – We need to make sure they “work” – May need to fix the path by replacing CMS with STInet How about adding “All My Courses” to “My Pages”? - Edit Page – Magic portlet for finding past, current or future courses

#10 Course Authorization Why Use Course Authorization? Internships-Clinicals: to control the registration of students meeting prereqs for clinical or internship. – We generally set the course cap to 0 and then instructor authorizes to allow students in as needed – Student still needs to register for the course afterward FACULTY TAB – My FACULTY ROLE Students who have no other course section options could come to an instructor of a full class and ask for this. – Teachers are in effect overriding their course cap by authorizing additional select student(s)
