1:9The Mystery Revealed anakephalaiō ἀ νακεφαλαι ό ω No Longer Divided God is BRINGING BACK TOGETHER in Christ all things torn apart by sin.

1:10Uniting Heaven and Earth with a view to an administration suitable to the fullness of the times, that is, the summing up of all things in Christ, things in the heavens and things on the earth. The creation itself will be liberated from its bondage to decay... Rom. 8:21 Jew and Gentile – both groups into one...Eph. 2:14

1:10Managing the Fullness of Times The Greek word means “household management.” God will order and administer the universe in a new way, consistent with the fact that the fullness of the times have come for his purposes to be fulfilled – Gal. 4:4. That’s what this “bringing it all back together in Christ,” this anakephalai ō sis is all about. with a view to an administration suitable to the fullness of the times, that is, the summing up of all things in Christ, things in the heavens and things on the earth.

1:11-12Jews to the Praise of His Glory “We have been chosen for the Lord’s possession (or inheritance)” is a better translation From the Song of Moses -- Deut. 32:9. God chose the Jews before they were even a nation! Chosen to be his treasured possession -- Deut 7:6; 14:2. And it was TO THE PRAISE OF HIS GLORY! also we have obtained an inheritance, having been predestined according to His purpose who works all things after the counsel of His will, 12 to the end that we who were the first to hope in Christ would be to the praise of His glory.

1:13Gentiles, now His Possession A seal of ownership. The Holy Spirit confirmed that the Gentiles are now God’s possession also. Bringing things back together again is underway! In Him, you also, after listening to the message of truth, the gospel of your salvation-- having also believed, you were sealed in him with the Holy Spirit of promise,

1:14All are God’s Possession “We” Jews were chosen as God’s possession to the praise of his glory – 1:11-12. “You” Gentiles were sealed with the Holy Spirit showing you are now God’s possession – 1:13. The Holy Spirit is a pledge that God will redeem his own possession – both Jews & Gentiles! the Holy Spirit of promise, 14 who is given as a pledge of our inheritance, with a view to the redemption of God's own possession, to the praise of His glory.

1:3-14The Blessing 1:3-4God chose us to be holy and blameless 1:5-8He predetermined he would have sons so he lavished grace on us. 1:9-14He revealed the mystery of his purpose. To bring all things back together In heaven and on earth Jews and Gentiles to praise his glory
