Unit 3: Solving Equations Solving Polynomial Equations Success Criteria for Solving Polynomial Equations: Isolate the variable Collect like terms Follow SAMDEB to undo operations Do the inverse operation (do the opposite) Keep the equation balanced (whatever you do to one side you must also do to the other) Use the distributive property The numerator is always in brackets Only ONE equal sign per line Perform all 4 operations with integers correctly Get like terms on the same side of the equal sign and remember to change signs when moving from one side of the equal sign to the other Perform a check
