2.  BRAC began its education program in Afghanistan in 2002 with 24 schools catering to 778 girls between 11 and 15 years of age who had never attended school before.  In 2009 we carried on our work to reduce childhood illiteracy in Afghanistan by working with the Ministry of Education (MoE) to provide education in rural areas to students who have dropped out of or never entered the state-run formal education system. Young girls, who suffer a 70% illiteracy rate in Afghanistan, are the primary target of BRAC’s education program. BRAC graduates rejoin the public school system in grade 4 or 5.  Currently 68% of students - and 82% of female students - in Afghanistan drop out of school before completion grade 6.

3.  New educational institutions are established all across the country and more students being enrolled. By 2011 there were 8.2 million students were attending schools in Afghanistan,schools in Afghanistan

4.  The literacy rate in Afghanistan for females was 12.6%  The reason why females percentage is so low because when the taliban took over women were not allow to get educated after 8 years old. Also if you try to do underground teaching and you were caught you were put to execution.

5.  The male literacy rate is 43.1%  The males are low because when taliban had tooking over the males where mostly fighting In wars. So didn’t have time to do school.

7.  only about 63 percent of schoolchildren finish primary school.

8.  The reason why the percentage to finish primary school is low because many males are fighting with the Taliban and not worrying abt there education.  For the females the Taliban doesn’t want females to be educated.

9.  My conclusion is that Afghanistan education is limited because of wars and the Taliban take over. I think if the Taliban never took over Afghanistan males and females will be smarter and have a better future.
