Response Features SuperFetch Manages memory to get the most out of available RAM. Prioritizes the programs you're currently using over background tasks. Tracks the programs you use most often and preloads them into memory Windows ReadyDrive takes advantage of new hybrid hard disks HHD’s = Hybrid Hard Drives. These drive come with 128-256MB of flash memory. Vista organizes the sectors most often read and keeps them available in flash = faster performance, less disk access and (for laptops) longer battery life. Copyright 2007 Doug Waterman

Other “Under the Hood” Features Multi-threaded Kernel Created to take advantage of multi-core processors. Automatic Disk Defragmentation Doesn’t need to complete in a single session Runs in the background using low-priority I/O ReadyBoost Uses USB Flash memory to improve performance without having to add memory "under the hood." serves as an additional memory cache—that is, memory that the computer can access more quickly than it can access data on the hard disk drive.
