Proposed School Staffing Structure September, 2008 Headteacher (ISR 10 – 16) Provide professional leadership for the school which secures its success and improvement, ensuring high quality education for all its pupils, and improved standards of learning and achievement. Provide strategic direction and development of the school. Secure and sustain effective teaching and learning throughout the school, monitoring and evaluating the quality of teaching and standards of pupils’ achievement. Motivate, support and challenge staff to secure improvement. Deploy people and resources efficiently and effectively to meet specific objectives in line with the school’s strategic plan and financial context. Be accountable to the governors and others, including pupils, parents, staff, local employers and the local community. Senior Management Team TLR 2 Curriculum Responsibility for teaching and learning developing the curriculum across the school, ensuring breadth of study and appropriate planning. Works with subject leaders to take a lead in curriculum development. Developmental focus on School Improvement Plan and priorities to raise standards. Line manage staff / Performance management. Leadership of staff / governor subject team. Named teacher in the absence of the Headteacher. TLR 2 Assessment Responsibility for teaching and learning standards – tracking children’s progress across the school using school’s assessment procedures – liaison with class teacher s / SENCO where children’s progress is slow. Developmental focus on School Improvement Plan and priorities to raise standards. Line manage staff / Performance management. Leadership of staff / governor subject team Named teacher in the absence of the Headteacher TLR 2 SEN Co-ord Assessment of SEN, multi-agency working, inclusion and intervention safeguarding ; liaison with TLR 2(FS/KS1) and TLR 2(KS2) to maximise teaching and learning opportunities, including assessment. Liaison with named Child Protection Officer Liaison with HLTA (SEN) and SEN Learning Support Assistants PPA Cover (circa 0.8) Appropriately age- trained teachers.
