EDUCATIONAL PHILOSOPHY AND OBJECTIVES
“ My little children, let us not love in words or speech but in deed and truth.” - 1 John 3:18 - P Philosophy The motto of Hanyang University is “Love in Truth and in Deed” to generate students with values of diligence, integrity, modesty, and service. The educational goals of Hanyang University are to train talented individuals in order to support their self-actualization and to make a positive contribution to the community, the nation, and the world. We aim to accomplish these by achieving excellence in all aspects of teaching, research and development of theories. G Goals (allow audience to browse) “Hanyang University’s founding philosophy is “Love in Truth and in Deed” meaning it is the University goal to instill it our students a desire to strive towards academic excellence while developing and maintaining a sense of community that encourages humanitarian efforts in the form of volunteerism and/or philanthropy.

HISTORY Hanyang History
1972 – Opened University Hospital in Seoul campus 1995 – Opened University Hospital in Guri-city Raised to the status of university and renamed Hanyang University 1948 – Elevated to the Hanyang Engineering College Opened second campus in Ansan(ERICA) 1939 – Opened Dong-A Polytechnic Institute Hanyang History Hanyang University owes its humble beginning to Dong-A Polytechnic Institute which opened its doors in It was the dream of the University’s founder, LyunJoon KIM, to establish a school that could help improve the plight of oppressed Koreans living under Japanese colonization, by providing technical education and training. – Due to its successful growth, Dong-A developed into Hanyang Engineering College in – Successive advancements of the Engineering College allowed for the founding of today’s Hanyang University in – In 1972, the Hanyang University Hospital opened its doors to the public. The University further expanded and established a second campus in the city of Ansan, just south of Seoul, in And then in 1995, the University opened another hospital for the local community in Guri, located in northeastern Seoul.

Aim to increase international “Degree-seeking” students 10% by 2020
