Identify your champions or hidden heroes, acknowledge and celebrate what you are already doing. Develop a whole school approach Create the ethos/mission statement/core values, embed it in the school, make a development plan, make it the focus for the school curriculum. You do not want to leave it to the “sustainability teacher”; it has to be a whole school approach. Develop a plan for every child’s learning Plan learning for sustainability for every child as they progress through the school. Measure the treasure Keep results of waste audits, compare bin collection costs or procurement of paper/paper towels year on year.
