The Right Brain vs Left Brain test... do you see the dancer turning clockwise or anti- clockwise? If clockwise, then you use more of the right side of the brain and vice versa. Eight Ways of Being Smart Word Smart: students who are “word smart” like words. They enjoy reading, telling stories and writing. They are also great talkers and are sensitive to how other people use words to express themselves. This student learns by saying, hearing and seeing words. Number Smart: Students who are “number smart” like numbers. They enjoy patterns and looking at relationships between ideas. They are good at math, thinking things through and applying logic, and problem solving. This student learns by categorizing. Picture Smart: Students who are “picture smart” like pictures. They come to understand ideas by drawing a diagram or looking at a picture. They enjoy drawing, creating, designing, imagining and using color. Music Smart: Students who are “music smart” like music. They enjoy hearing rhythms and sounds. They learn by associating patterns with sounds.

...continued… Body Smart: Students who are “body smart” like to move. They enjoy learning when they can use their hands or become involved with their body. They do not like to sit still for long periods of time. They learn best by moving around. People Smart: Students who are “people smart” enjoy having friends. People ask them for advice. They understand other people easily. They love learning in a group. They need to discuss ideas with other people to learn. Self Smart: Students who are “self smart” know themselves very well. They enjoy working alone and pursuing their own interests. They need to have their own space. They learn best by being given a choice in assignments. Nature Smart: Students who are “nature smart” like to be outdoors. They enjoy camping and organizing the natural world. also may be said to have a “green thumb”. They learn best through nature, linking ideas to the environment.
