General Results 52% responded, 75% responded in 2004 Length of property ownership: – Mean = 18.1yrs vs 13.6 yrs in 2004 – Median = 14 yrs vs 10 yrs in 2004 – Range = 4 to 48 yrs. Few significant differences from 2004 Key “uses or activities” listed by respondents. – Peace/Solitude – Fishing – Scenic enjoyment – Boating

“Fishing” Results Fishing Quality 58.5% indicated that fishing quality has declined compared to 43% in 2004. 29% indicated that fishing quality has stayed the same vs. 56% in 2004. 12% indicated that fishing quality has improved vs. 0% in 2004. Fishing Experience 27% rated fishing as “fair” or “poor” vs. 24% in 2004. 46% rated fishing as “average” vs. 50% in 2004. 17% rated fishing as “very good” to excellent vs. 0% in 2004. Primary causes of fishing quality decline: Over fishing = 75% vs. 60% in 2004 “Weeds” = 46% vs. 36% in 2004 Heavy recreation = 13% vs. 10% in 2004 Note: In 2004 Soil erosion (30%) and Herbicides (13%) were also perceived to be issues

Water Quality Results 81% indicated that water quality has improved or stayed the same vs. 56% in 2004. 16.7% indicated that water quality has declined vs. 43% of respondents in 2004. Issues relating to water quality decline were:’ – “Weeds”= 72% vs. 56% in 2004 – Shoreline damage = 20% vs. 6% in 2004 – Soil erosion = 20% vs. 10% in 2004 Note: In 2004 Development (23%) was perceived to be an issue relating to water quality vs. 8% in 2012.

Plant Harvesting Results Support plant harvesting: 96% vs. 95% in 2004 Support harvesting native plants: 77% vs. 90% in 2004 How much and what should we harvest? – More plants: 30% vs. 30% in 2004 – Fewer plants: 15% vs. 16% in 2004 – More lily pads: 39% vs. 30% in 2004 – Chara : 35% vs. 6% in 2004 – Same as now: 0*% vs. 30% in 2004 * A number of respondents checked “same as now” but did not indicate a % number.

Shoreline Results Shoreline description: – Natural landscape-undeveloped=84% vs. 64% in 2004 – Lawn = 2% vs. 19% in 2004 – Rock/Rip-Rap: 0% vs. 9% in 2004 – Landscaped 2% vs. 6% in 2004 – Retaining wall: 2% vs. 0% in 2004 – Natural-restored: 9%. Not a category in 2004 Familiar with State law regarding buffer zone: – Yes = 65% – No = 23% – 13% did not respond.
