History of the Little Golden Books  Began in Racine, Wisconsin under the Western Publishing Company, Inc.  This publisher printed numerous books, including children’s books before launching the legendary Little Golden Books  Created their own Artists and Writers Guild  The idea for Little Golden Books began in 1941

3. Little Golden Books Are Born  12 titles were released at one time in 1942  Each title had 42 pages; 28 in two color and 14 in four color.  Had a side staple binding  Sold for 25 cents
