21 Energy-Efficient Technology Auto Power-Down
Automatically turns off power on Gigabit Ethernet RJ-45 port when detecting link down If there is no link on a port (when there is no connection or the device connected is turned off), the port(s) enter a “sleep mode” Resumes active mode when the switch detects the link up or device connected The switch sends out electrical pulses at frequent intervals Adjusts power based on cable length (on Gigabit Ethernet models) Detects the length of connected Ethernet cable and adjusts power usage accordingly—without affecting performance

25 Switching for Small Business One Portfolio: A Spectrum of Choices
Catalyst 2960 Series Switches with LAN Base and LAN Lite Cisco SFE and SGE Managed Stackable Switches Solution Optimized / CCA Integrated Cisco 300 Series Managed Cisco Small Business Pro ESW 500 Cisco Smart Switches Cisco® 100 Series Unmanaged Switches There is ton of great news for our partners. What we are discussing today is our next generation of Gigabit Ethernet Switching line and several new services offered as part of that portfolio. From a platform perspective this announcement includes the new Catalyst 3750-X, the Catalyst 3560-X, and the Catalyst 2960-S. This announcement also includes significant network services that provide compelling reasons to buy for our customers, a broader portfolio and price positioning to enable our partners from a competitive perspective, and increased opportunities for partner driven services to drive additional margin. Marie spoke about trends in the industry driving the need for a borderless network. The number and type of end point devices accessing applications continues to expand. Our customer networks are changing to align to that need. It's no longer simply about individual point products it really about a cohesive approach to the network that includes both wired and wireless, security, UC, applications and now... even power management throughout a corporation. Cisco's new series of Gigabit Ethernet Switches have been built to meet that broad range of customer needs and requirements. We'll be discussing those switches and several new services that directly address the customer need for a borderless network. I also want to mention the competitive advantage this announcement brings to our partners. Competitive advantage is realized in this announcement from both a technology perspective as well as a GTM and pricing perspective and well talk about that a bit later. But from a technology perspective there are three areas where we are delivering ....: So first, let's take a look at the 3K-X series and the opportunity that it creates. As we have mentioned earlier, I am very pleased to share that we are aggressively pricing our new switching series of products to address the competitive battles that many of you are experiencing in the field. So even with all this tremendous technology and services leadership our new strategy is to build great price flexibility allowing you compete at every level in the deal. First, we have dropped the price per port on the Catalyst 3750 by approx. 25%, but in addition, we have provided a new entry level price point on the So even on our flagship fixed switch, we have more options. For situations that require even more aggressive pricing, we have the Catalyst 2960-S to address an much lower entry price point for our Gigabit Ethernet Switching family. With our new pricing strategy we should be able to avoid losing deals on price alone. From a positioning perspective...Looking at this chart, you can see from a features standpoint, we are outpacing the competition with leading technologies like stacking at the low end, power management, ease of operations. On top of that, we are layering infrastructure-wide services, that our competition has nothing comparable to offer. Finally, we made sure pricing was not an issue – for enterprise customers or bargain buyers. We feel our new pricing should avoid any lost deals on price alone.
