 One of God’s traits is His omniscience: Psa. 139:1-6; Prov. 5:21; Rom. 16:27; 1 Tim. 1:17; Lk. 12:6-7  But, did you know there are some things God does not know? 2 God does not know… O LORD, You have searched me and known me. You know my sitting down and my rising up; You understand my thought afar off. You comprehend my path and my lying down, And are acquainted with all my ways. For there is not a word on my tongue, But behold, O LORD, You know it altogether.

 Why does God hate sin? He knows it causes us to lose quality of life: Jn. 10:10 He knows it causes us to lose quality of life: Jn. 10:10 He knows sin’s consequences: Rom. 6:23 He knows sin’s consequences: Rom. 6:23 He knows the terror of hell: Matt. 25:41 He knows the terror of hell: Matt. 25:41 3 God does not know… I have come that they may have life, and that they may have it more abundantly. For the wages of sin is death… Then He will also say to those on the left hand, 'Depart from Me, you cursed, into the everlasting fire prepared for the devil and his angels 1

 Many men deny the existence of sin; instead sin is classified as a “disease.”  Men have a tendency to “classify” sins.  Bible makes no such distinctions between sins: Rom. 1:29-31; Gal. 5:19-21; 1 Jn. 1:9; Acts 8:22 4 God does not know… 1

 God always hated sin: Adams sin: Gen. 3 Adams sin: Gen. 3 David’s sin: 2 Sam. 12:1-14 David’s sin: 2 Sam. 12:1-14  Wisdom Literature describes God’s attitude toward sin: Psa. 5:4-6  God hates sin! Do we? 5 God does not know… For You are not a God who takes pleasure in wickedness, Nor shall evil dwell with You. The boastful shall not stand in Your sight; You hate all workers of iniquity. 1

 Jn. 3:16  As intensely as God hates sin, He loves the sinner: Ezek. 33:11  God wants all to be saved: 2 Pet. 3:9  Jesus gave three vivid pictures illustrating God’s love of the sinner: Lk. 15:4-24 6 God does not know… For God so loved the world that He gave His only begotten Son, that whoever believes in Him should not perish but have everlasting life. 'As I live,' says the Lord GOD, 'I have no pleasure in the death of the wicked, but that the wicked turn from his way and live. Turn, turn from your evil ways! The Lord is …longsuffering toward us, not willing that any should perish but that all should come to repentance. 2

 The gospel is God’s only means to call sinners to salvation: Rom. 1:16-17  Through the gospel message we gain salvation from sin and restored fellowship with God in the church: Eph. 5:23  We must never tamper with the gospel. Never change it! Always trust in its power! Gal. 1:6-9 7 God does not know… 3 For I am not ashamed of the gospel of Christ, for it is the power of God to salvation for everyone who believes For the husband is head of the wife, as also Christ is head of the church; and He is the Savior of the body.

 God has only promised one opportunity for salvation: TODAY! 2 Cor. 6:2; Jas. 4:14  We cannot be complacent about our salvation. 8 God does not know… 4 Behold, now is the accepted time; behold, now is the day of salvation. Whereas you do not know what will happen tomorrow. For what is your life? It is even a vapor that appears for a little time and then vanishes away.

 Cannot save ourselves no matter how good we live: Acts 10  Salvation is only found “in Christ”: Acts 4:12; Jn. 14:6  In this regard Christianity is exclusive: Jn. 3:36 9 God does not know… 5 Nor is there salvation in any other, for there is no other name under heaven given among men by which we must be saved. I am the way, the truth, and the life. No one comes to the Father except through Me. He who believes in the Son has everlasting life; and he who does not believe the Son shall not see life, but the wrath of God abides on him.

 God is the potter and we are the clay; we can be a “vessel for honor” if we submit to Him: Jas. 1:21  God can save anyone: Acts 2:41; Acts 9:1 10 God does not know… 6 Lay aside all filthiness and overflow of wickedness, and receive with meekness the implanted word, which is able to save your souls. Then those who gladly received his word were baptized; and that day about three thousand souls were added to them. Then Saul, still breathing threats and murder against the disciples of the Lord...

 God has the ability: Jer. 32:17  God has proven He will go to any length necessary to help us: Rom. 8:32  These are the questions:  Do we have enough faith?  Will we accept His will?  Do we have enough patience? 11 God does not know… 7 Lord GOD! Behold, You have made the heavens and the earth by Your great power and outstretched arm. There is nothing too hard for You. He who did not spare His own Son, but delivered Him up for us all, how shall He not with Him also freely give us all things?

 Paul is crystal clear: Titus 3:5  Many have tried to save themselves, but all have failed!  Adam and Eve: Gen. 3  Cain: Gen. 4; Heb. 11:4  Jews: Gal. 2:16; 5:4  Can only be saved if we receive and obey the gospel of Christ: 1 Cor. 1:18-31 12 God does not know… 8 Not by works of righteousness which we have done, but according to His mercy He saved us, through the washing of regeneration…

 God’s promise: Matt. 11:28-30  Our role: 1 Pet. 5:6-7 13 God does not know… 9 Come to Me, all you who labor and are heavy laden, and I will give you rest. Take My yoke upon you and learn from Me, for I am gentle and lowly in heart, and you will find rest for your souls. For My yoke is easy and My burden is light. Humble yourselves under the mighty hand of God, that He may exalt you in due time, casting all your care upon Him, for He cares for you.

 His ability: Mk. 4:39-40  Our duty: Phil. 4:6 14 God does not know… 12 10 Be anxious for nothing, but in everything by prayer and supplication, with thanksgiving, let your requests be made known to God.

 If we turn to God He will restore us: Psa. 80:7 15 God does not know… 13 11 Restore us, O God of hosts; Cause Your face to shine, And we shall be saved!
