1 Bridging the Gap Problem-Solving Teachers’ Version

2 Teacher Notes This resource is …   A ‘Fiendish’ resource based on the two easier ‘Friendly’ resources - ‘Problem-Solving with Money’ - ‘Problem-Solving with Area and Perimeter’. It is assumed that these 2 resources have already been worked through with the pupils and that the 4-step problem-solving approach, R U PC, has also been understood. The aim of this resource is to combine the two areas of area / perimeter and money in order to solve more complex problems than those offered in the separate resources.   A simple guide to problem-solving The easy 4-step approach to solving tricky problems about area and perimeter and also money comprises: 1. Read it! 2. Underline it! 3. Picture it! 4. Calculate it!   Flexible Suitable both for whole-class teaching and individual pupil revision. The mouse-activated steps allow time for whole-class interactions.   User-friendly Stepwise examples are included for interactive teaching and the mouse-controlled steps allow full control over the speed of working through the activity.   A pupils’ version is also available as a follow-up activity (see Main Menu).
