Taylor International Academy TIA is owned and operated by the Hanley Harper Group Our charter is granted through Central Michigan University TIA is in it’s 4 th year of operation and is currently a PreK-8 school The Great Start Readiness Preschool program was added to TIA this year, and will continue to grow and develop along with the school Mission Statement The mission of Taylor International Academy is to provide a safe educational community for children and their families, committed to providing students with the academic and social skills needed to compete in a global society while fostering a love of technology and the arts.

Small Group Times Children work in small groups with 1 teacher Teacher plans and implements lesson Lessons range from exploration of materials, to instruction in reading, writing, math, etc. Children are encouraged to work together Small groups stay fairly consistent to build trust and relationships between children and with teacher

Large Group Times Led by teacher Children engage in literacy, music & movement, and sensory activities Children learn: Personal space Following directions Sharing Working as a group Taking turns Etiquette

Meal Times Children are served breakfast, lunch and a snack Children are encouraged to talk, use manners, and engage with each other and their teachers during meal times Children are encouraged to be independent – opening their own milk, packets, etc.

PreK = Building Confidence and Independence Children are encouraged to use each other to problem solve Children are taught to put on their own coats, hats, gloves, shoes, etc. Children are taught to open their own milks, packages, etc at meal time Children are taught to clean up after themselves and help keep the classroom orderly
