Online Addiction While time spent online can be hugely productive, compulsive Internet use can interfere with daily life, work, and relationships. When you feel more comfortable with your online friends than your real ones, or you can’t stop yourself from playing games, gambling, or compulsively checking your smartphone, tablet, or other mobile device—even when it has negative consequences in your life—then you may be using the Internet too much.

Questionnaire Do you neglect your schoolwork to go online?
Are you staying up late / not getting enough sleep because you are online? Have you made repeated but unsuccessful attempts to cut back, stop or control your Internet / phone use? Do you become moody, restless, irritable or depressed when you can't be on your computer or phone? Is your time spent online longer than what you originally planned? Did your online use negatively affect a relationship, education, career or job? Do you hide the extent of your Internet usage from others? Does the Internet serve as an escape from problems or relief from a bad mood?
